It is here! Cadaver Trax for the film Tamara is ready for download! Thanks to Ferguson for putting this together and thanks to everyone who participated. Remember, this film is available to watch on Netflix and Hulu (for free).
Sam and Mike go back to the Friday the 13th retrospective series to add part three. Part three showcases Friday the 13th part 7: The New Blood, Friday the 13th part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan, and Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday.
The music for this episode is provided by Left for Dead, a Salt Lake Horror-Punk band. You can check out them and other horror-themed bands by visiting http://www.drcyclopsrecords.com.
What's better around the Halloween season to come in from the cold and watch some classic horror movies? Nothing... That's what! Anyway, this episode Sam and Mike discuss movies that are, or will be, Halloween Classics. This episode we discuss Young Frankenstein, Halloween 3, and Trick 'r Treat.
We also play some Halloween-inspired music from Jeff Crazy's (It Came from the Basement Podcast)band, The Browns. We also throw in some Misfits and Type O Negative.
Lastly, we have an interview with Robert R. Best, illustrious author of All Kinds of things Kill and Lakewood Memorial... Very nice dude and awesome author!
After overcoming some technical issues, we finally release our episode on Gialli. We discuss Blood and Black Lace, Tenebre, and What Have You Done to Solange?.
Sam has a special treat with book reviews on Death Troopers written by Joe Schreiber. Joe also takes time out of his schedule to talk with Sam about his latest work.
Here it is! The first of many Cadaver Trax Releases! For our inaugural Trax, Ferguson chose House of the Dead to enhance. Let's just say that I've never enjoyed this flick so damn much. Join Ferguson, Spooky Bill, Mike, and Sam. It will be like we're all sitting in a room watching this flick...
We finally decided to bite the bullet and do a show on one of the most loathsome topics in horror... Cannibals! Well, we ended up enjoying it very much... maybe even a little too much. This episode we talk about Cannibal Ferox, Grimm Love, and Cannibal Holocaust.
Special Note: For all of you who have been telling us to keep all of our "questionable" content in... here you go. We delve into a subject that may be even a little low brow for us! Thanks to Patrick from NY for that!
Lastly, Alice In Chains just released their comeback album called "Black Gives Way to Blue". Since Sam and I have been huge AIC fans for the past 16-17 years, we celebrate this new album!
Many horror movies have that moment where if someone had just been using their head or not been at a certain spot at a certain time, there would have been no problems and the movie would have been short... and very boring. This episode is dedicated to the opposite. We chose three films where someone was dinking around where they shouldn't have been and unleashed some kind of evil. For this episode, we've chosen to talk about Evilspeak, Wishmaster, and Planet Terror.
This episode we chose three independent films to chat about. We talk about Paul Solet's Grace, Head Trauma, and Splinter.
We also talk about The Salty Horror Film Festival, Salt Lake's first Horror/Sci-Fi film festival. Though most of you aren't from SLC, the festival is open to all! We actually end the show with an interview with Mario DeAngelis, the organizer of the film festival.
Lastly, the music on this episode may be a little different than usual. Let's just say that it goes hand in hand with a little issue that Sam seems to have this episode.
Enjoy!
I just want to say that this episode is not for the weak! First of all, it's twice the length of an already long episode of the CL. Also, we have so much content with interviews, tunes, feedback, and movie reviews, that your head just may explode.
First of all, we have an interview with Shawn Gabborin, the owner and writer for Angry Gnome Comics (http://www.angrygnomecomics.com). Make sure to listen to that because there is an awesome contest in conjunction with this interview and the Pittsburgh Comic-Con.
Next, we have a discussion of films in the category of "Girl Power"! Films where women kick ass and take names. We discuss The Descent, Ginger Snaps, and the ever-cheery I Spit on your Grave.
Lastly, but not leastly, we have an interview with the Horror Punk Rockers DieMonsterDie. This band hails from our hometown of Salt Lake City. They were kind enough to sit down with me for an interview. They are great guys with awesome talent! Keep your eyes out for these guys in the future. Also, we have selected tracks from their catalog playing throughout this episode.
Sit back, grab your Tums, make sure the kiddies aren't in the room, then get on this bitch!
In this episode, we revisit Friday the 13th parts 4, 5, and 6. In celebration of the awesome tunes that Alice Cooper lends to the Friday the 13th part 6 soundtrack, we choose three selections of Mr. Cooper's to play on the show. Also, Sam gives his review of Level 26 by Anthony E. Zuiker.
As usual, we listen to some voicemails and talk about inappropriate things.
Who would have thought that your humble hosts would be still putting out the show after a whole year? Let's just say that it's just as big of a shock to us as it is to you.
We don't really have a theme for this show. We decided to pick three flicks that we wanted to watch. We chose Laid to Rest, REC, and Deadgirl.
Tunes for this episode:
- COC - Vote With a Bullet
- Drain S.T.H. - I Don't Mind
- Pist On - Shoplifters of the World; Unite
You may be asking yourself why the hell it took the Cadaver Lab so damn long to dedicate a show to the man who they obviously are huge fans of? To that we say... Don't worry about it. Leave us alone! Just kidding.
We choose three gems for this episode. Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat, My Name is Bruce, and Bubba Ho-Tep.
We also dedicate the music to Dave from the Cheap and Dirty Podcast. All Black Metal!!! Man that guy's lust for metal is insatiable.
As usual, we go over listener voicemails and we've got a nice Tribute for you.
We're back discussing the next three films in the A Nightmare On Elm Street Series. The series takes a turn for the cheesy... but is this a bad thing? We discuss.
We have plenty of your voicemails to go through (which we appreciate very much!). We also take a break from the metal to bring you the theme of "Seattle in the 90's" for our musical choices.
Contact us at feedback@cadaverlab.com and leave us a voicemail at (206)339-2730.
Sam and Mike discuss the first three installments of one of the most successful franchises in horror history. Whoever it was that originally came up with the formula of blood, scares, and boobs should be given an honorary Bonesaw, because he (I assume it was a man) has given us hours upon hours of awesome entertainment!
As usual, we get some awesome voicemails and discuss them. We've got a tribute that is funny now, but Sam will have some explaining to do next episode!
We also feature the music of Mr. Bungle and Johnny Sanders. Check out Johnny's Site at http://www.myspace.com/johnnysanders!
This episode we start our look back at the A Nightmare On Elm Street series. We discuss ANOES, ANOES part 2: Freddy's Revenge, and ANOES part 3: Dream Warriors. Being one of the series that we both loved as kids, it was like taking a trip down memory lane but do these movies stand up today?
Music for this episode:
* Mastodon - The Wolf is Loose
* Slayer - Dead Skin Mask
* Dokken - Dream Warriors
* Hidden Track (Meaning, we stuck it at the end of the show): Rush - Roll the Bones
This episode we discuss Tales from the Crypt. We talk about the EC comic line, the HBO television series, and some of the movies that Tales from the Crypt released. We review two films and four episodes of the HBO series.
As usual we go over some feedback... Sam threatens to fax some interesting pics on Man on the Street, and we also give a tribute to a very deserving person.
Here it is! Cadaver Lab Episode 31: Masters of Horror - Post Mortem. This episode we do a quick overview of the Showtime program called Masters of Horror. The thought behind this program is to get the best horror directors (such as John Carpenter, Dario Argento, Stewart Gordon, and Takashi Miike) and give them the chance to direct a one hour short film to showcase their talents. This idea was the brainchild of famed horror director Mick Garris. This show ran for two years and then was cut from Showtime's schedule. It was reincarnated as Fear Itself on NBC for one season.
As usual, we present the things that you've come to expect from Cadaver Lab. We do some feedback including email and some voicemails. You are also treated to Sam's Man on the Street segment as well as an awesome tribute!
Music for this episode:
* Antiworld - Tallman (by request from Rotten 138)
* Megadeth - Scorpion (as requested by everybody out there... you know you love Megadeth)
* Death Stars - White Wedding
WARNING!!! For some reason Mike and Sam were on one during the recording of this episode. It is apparent as we make it our mission to offend multiple people and groups as a whole... You have been warned!
This week we discuss three Asian films that have been recommended to us. These three films are Tokyo Gore Police (2008), The Machine Girl (2008), and Oldboy (2003). This episode we introduce a new segment for the Cadaver Lab. Sam takes the show to the streets to ask poignant questions to the unsuspecting public. As usual, we also go over some voicemails.
This episode we discuss the awesome Horror Hound Weekend! It was awesome to go hang out with my podcasting compatriots. We discuss what celebrities were in attendance and which one needed to be bitch-slapped for his constant attention whoring.
We also discuss three movies that will blow your mind. the Basket Case Trilogy! I must say that these are the best movies that involve conjoined twins that were separated and one lives in a basket.
As usual, we go over some voicemails. To leave a voicemail, call (206) 339-2730. If you would like to shoot us an email, send your thoughts to mike@cadaverlab.com or sam@cadaverlab.com. Make sure to visit http://www.cadaverlab.com!
In Episode 28 we discuss some films with the topic of Inbred Redneck Horror. It's been a little while since our last episode and boy do we make up for some lost time.
The movies we discuss are Deliverance (1972), Wrong Turn (2003), and House of 1000 Corpses (2003). Three movies that may not have the deepest of interwoven stories for a plot, but deliver on the terrifying imagery and an atmosphere of isolation and hopelessness.

Get ready for a marathon episode from the Cadaver Lab. Not only do we discuss and review three movies, we discuss a few of our favorite horror hosts. We spend some time discussing why we love horror hosts and what impact that horror hosts have had on our horror movie watching.
We go into detail about Vincent Price, Vampira, Elvira, and Joe Bob Briggs. We share clips from each of these hosts including an introduction from both Joe Bobb and Elvira. Plus, we put in a clip where Sam and Vincent Price shoot the shit!
In Episode 26, we highlight some of the works of Lucio Fulci. We discuss Zombie Hell House 1981, The Beyond 1981, and Zombi 2 1979/1980. We discuss the differences between Fulci and his contemporaries. We talk about what traits go into a Fulci film and discuss some of the highlights from the Fulci movies that we have seen lately.
As usual, we go over some feedback and we discuss why Sam has a fear of mustaches.
Due to some unforeseen schedule conflicts and unavoidable coincidences, we weren't able to bring you our Lucio Fulci episode. Don't worry though because we will be talking about the gore-meister himself next week. Since we had to scrape together a show topic and Sam was out of town, we were limited to the horror movies that Sam had on his iPod.
Fortunately he had a few decent flicks... not saying we're including them in this show, but nonetheless. This week we talk about Thir13en Ghosts (2001), Candyman 1992, and The Ring from 2002.
We are also very lucky to be able to play three tracks by our own "KreugerDude" a.k.a. Johnny Sanders. Visit his Myspace page at: http://www.myspace.com/johnnysanders
As uncomfortable as the title makes us, we decided to take care of some business on this show. We thought we'd pop Sam's cherry. Now... all of you sick-minded bastards can relax, we're using that to describe the fact that we want to break Sam out of his "noob" status. We chose three films to talk about this week, all of which have some kind of significance in the horror genre as a whole and some would say that one can't be a true horror fan until one has seen these. So for those who wanted to try to catch us pressure washing the aluminum trombone, I am sorry!
Although we could have added so many great titles to this list, this week we're going to discuss Nosferatu 1922, City of the Living Dead 1980, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974.
This week's topic is Vampire Origins. We talk about different myths and legends from around the globe regarding the origination of the vampire. Since we ran a little long, we weren't able to get into the depth that we would have liked, but we are able to discuss some very interesting myths.
We are treated to a few "Impersonate Sam" entries. We also go over some voicemails and emails. One email even mentions how Sam can pop his cherry.
We discuss three films that focus on the origination story of the vampires involved:
-Tsui Hark's Vampire Hunters (2002)
-Vampire 2000 (2000)
-Dark Prince: The True Story of Dracula(2000)
What is more appropriate at this chilly time of year than to discuss films that take place in cold and isolated environments? Sam and Mike tackle three films; The Last Winter 2006, 30 Days of Night 2007, and John Carpenter's The Thing 1982. We discuss why this setting lends itself well for horror films as well as our thoughts on good ways and bad ways to express political opinions via film.
We also get our first entry to the "Imitate Sam" contest. You're guaranteed to laugh your ass off when you hear this.
This week Mike and Sam discuss a few selections that fall into the genre of Sci-Fi Horror. We realize that this topic is not the most unique, but we put our spin on the topic. We review Galaxy of Terror 1981, Event Horizon 1997, and the classic Alien 1979.
In this episode, Sam gets called a name that he just can't seem to die and a flame-war is started with another podcast... kind of.
Don't forget about our "Impersonate Sam" contest. We have an awesome prize package for the the person who calls our voicemail with the best impression of Sam!
Call us at (206) 339-2730 to leave a voicemail or email us at feedback@cadaverlab.com.
This week we discuss Repo! The Genetic Opera. A film starring Paul Sorvino, Anthony Head, and Sarah Brightman. This is a little bit different than the flicks that we typically talk about. A musical in the vein of Sweeny Todd or The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Repo is filled with great visuals and a very unique storyline.
We didn't think we were going to get a show out this week, but the stars aligned and we were able to put a shorter episode together. I will say though, that since Repo was such a good flick, we had a lot to talk about.
Here it is... The show that made both of us blush. We present the "Love Your Junk" episode and discuss Days of Darkness, Beyond Reanimator, and Teeth. This is actually a longer-episode (Around 1 hour 49 minutes) because of the catching up we had to do for taking last week off for the holidays.
Steve from the Bonehand podcast (http://www.bonehand.com) provides us with some thematically-relevant music. We also are spotlighting JAFMP and The Midnight Podcast by playing their promos. Both great shows that we all should be listening to.
This episode comes with a warning... If it can make Sam and Mike blush, you know something is wrong... very wrong!
Enjoy!!!
Sam and Mike ring in the holidays by presenting the Cadaver Lab Christmas Show! We review and discuss A Christmas Evil, Black Christmas, and Jack Frost. We also have a couple of weird-ass Christmas Carols to share. Last, but not least, find out what the difference is between Snow Men and Snow Women.
Mike and Sam discuss Horror Action in this episode. We discuss and review Underworld, Constantine, and End of Days. This is a special episode because apparently we forgot to take our meds before we started recording and there are some strange results.
Sam and Mike explore three films that add a twist to the conventional Vampire legend. We discuss Martin from 1977, Let the Right One In from this year, and Lifeforce from 1985. We also go over listener feedback and discuss a brand new novella by Keith Latch called Sleepwalkers (http://keithlatch.wordpress.com). We also discuss a couple of ideas that we can all use to relieve some stress and get a laugh! Hope you enjoy it!
Sam and Mike are determined to prove that Johnny Depp is scary as they discuss The Ninth Gate, Sleepy Hollow, and From Hell. We also prove that maybe some of the censored comments on previous shows are warranted. We shall see, however... Remember to be careful for what you wish for! As always we go over some user emails and voicemails. Sam goes off on somewhat of a rant and we even have a follow-up email from JAFMP's Stephen.
This week, Sam and Mike discuss three films that have cheated the system and have entertained their audience because they are so bad that the normal film watcher's brain doesn't know how to react. As a side-effect of the watcher's brain's inability to process what is on the screen, the watcher is conned into believing that the film borders on greatness!
Join us as we discuss Head of the Family, Night of the Demons, and The Toxic Avenger.
This week we discuss horror in the public domain. There is a wealth of horror films, books, music, and more waiting out there to freely acquire, edit, and redistribute to your heart's content. Of course... that means that for Sam and Me we can get our hands on a ton of free shit! We also discuss a small selection of films that exist in the public domain. These are Peter Jackson's Bad Taste, Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing starring in The Satanic Rites of Dracula, and Dario Argento's Deep Red.
Mike and Sam decide to take on three of the 8 films that have been recently released by Ghost House Pictures under the Underground label. Like any multi-release (see After Dark's Horrorfest), there are hits and misses. Listen in to see which of the films we talk about are hits and which are misses.
This episode we take some time to deliver a very important Public Service Announcement. This is all something we know about but we may be ashamed to discuss in public. Please help us raise awareness and support for this issue.
We finally finish up our Hellraiser retrospective. Unfortunately, this franchise seemed to forget what made it great and pumped out the three pieces of shit. We talk about Hellraiser 6: Hellseeker, Hellraiser 7: Deader, and Hellraiser 8: Hellworld. We lose control of the conversation a couple of times with some weird results. Also, this episode Sam says something so offensive that we should have cut a whole part out... However, because I need to give Sam a little shit... it gets left in!
This episode Sam and Mike discuss the next three Hellraiser installments: Hellraiser 3: Hell on Earth, Hellraiser 4: Bloodlines, and Hellraiser 5: Inferno. Before we get into our discussion, we discuss some current horror topics.
This episode we begin our descent into Hell. We present the first of a predicted three part series covering Hellraiser and its 7 sequels. In this episode, we discuss Hellraiser and Hellraiser 2: Hellbound along with some discussion regarding the book on which Hellraiser is based: The Hellbound Heart. Join us for this as well as an eye-opening fact about Sam that you never wanted to know!
As old as horror itself is the creature feature. Join us as we discuss three films from this sub-genre. In Episode 8, we discuss Clive Barker's Rawhead Rex, Pumpkinhead, and Jeepers Creepers. We also felt the urge to share a couple of our favorite tunes with you as well.
This week we discuss a wicked set of films known as the Video Nasties. We get into a little bit of the history behind the UK's list of vile and reprehensible films. We also chat about a couple of films from the list. For all this and details on Sam's Furburger, make sure to give Episode 7 a listen!
Horror Comedy? Can there be such a thing as true horror being mixed with pure comedy? Absolutley!!! We discuss some of our favorite horror comedy films along with some of our listeners' favorites. This episode is a little different in that Sam and Mike are the only horsemen that were available for the recording session. There must have been something in the punch that we drank before the show because there is definitely a strange aura about this episode. We also take much more time than usual to discuss some of the listener feedback that we've been receiving. This opens up some weird conversation!
